Sermorelin Injection is a compounded, synthetic 29-amino acid analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), primarily indicated for diagnostic testing and treatment of pediatric and adult growth hormone deficiency, and studied for investigational use in age-related GH decline, muscle wasting, and anti-aging protocols. Sermorelin acts as a GHRH analog, binding to pituitary receptors to trigger natural, pulsatile secretion of endogenous GH, suppress somatostatin inhibition, and upregulate GH gene transcription. Elevated GH leads to increased IGF-1, resulting in improved growth, body composition, and metabolism. This physiologic feedback system reduces the risk of overdose and excessive GH exposure.

Sermorelin has a favorable safety profile. Adverse effects are typically mild and transient, including injection site pain, redness, swelling, transient flushing, headache, dizziness, and less commonly urticaria, somnolence, or hyperactivity. Severe hypersensitivity is rare, with minimal long-term risks and no documented cases of addiction or systemic toxicity.

Sermorelin is supplied as a sterile subcutaneous injection at 1 mg/mL or 2 mg/mL. Administer by injecting 0.2–0.3 mg nightly for adults, or 30 mcg/kg nightly for pediatric patients, typically at bedtime to match physiologic GH pulsatility. Rotate injection sites to minimize irritation, discard unused product after 28 days from reconstitution, and follow exact compounding pharmacy protocol for dose titration and cycle length, which may be continuous or intermittent depending on clinical need and response.
